A series of works exploring where my heritage lies and who we are as a nation, framed against the backdrop of rising nationalism - both in England and across the world.
England's soft woollen underbelly 2026,. Stop motion film
Vocals: Charlie Jones and by kind permission of Sonny Green @sonnygreenuk
This stop-motion film explores multiculturalism in England, asking why we 'other' people and who is driving that narrative. It offers an alternative vision - one in which diversity and inclusion are celebrated for the richness they bring to our country. As the skin-tone layers peel away, they reveal a woollen George Cross, inviting us to embrace our history in all its complexity.

My Flag of Nations 2026. Materials: repurposed flags, fabric, thread, approx. 80 cm x 55 cm
My personal Flag of Nations is made from fabrics representing every nationality in my heritage, traced back to the 1500s. The slit and fraying fabrics form a metaphor - we cannot deny who we are and where we have come from. It is written into our DNA and will always find its way into the light. For the majority of the world's population, that thread leads all the way back to Africa.
A selection of flags looking at the joyous nature of England's cultural heritage a country that has been invaded since the early stages of humanity.
Materials: repurposed flags, repurposed pyjamas, thread
